Photographing a Hidden World →
Here is an interesting video interview with Peter Flaig, a geologist photographer who was searching for fossils in Antarctica and they had some very cool and interesting finds! Well worth the watch (it’s only about four minutes long).

Oh classes, my classes
I’ve already spent over nine hours on campus today, only two of which was spent in class. The rest of the time I have spent doing homework and getting distracted by the internet. But I have gotten stuff done! I am going to spend maybe another two hours here before crawling home. It’s Chemistry, a three week summer class. Two chapters a week, so little time. I will conquer though! I...

My life as of Today
One, I have a job! It is totally official now. I am going to be working in a soil lab for about eight months, part time and making 12-13 dollars an hour. Not only that, but it is in my major (Geology) so it looks great on my resume! Also, once I take about four or five, maybe six classes in soils, I qualify for level five jobs in the government involving soils. Two, I found an apartment!...

I have felt the need to write depressing stories lately. Especially after reading A Canticle for Leibowitz. Fantastic book by the way, I highly recommend it. It’s been a while since I’ve written anything, but I’m excited. This could be a good project for me to do when I need to relax after homework, school and job.

Can someone please explain to me
why so many people think that evolution is a belief? I mean it’s not, it’s a THEORY just like GRAVITY. And I don’t see people going around saying they don’t believe in gravity.

First final down!
I just got out of my calculus II final and I think it went okay. I was the first one done and I’ve gotten A’s on the rest of the exams so I’m rather confident.  I have three more midterms to go, I’ll spend the rest of today studying for chemistry and doing my illustrator project for Archaeology. I’m a bit worried about chemistry just because it’s chemistry and...

Surprise Surprise...
So I took an exam in Astrogeology this last Wednesday, as in yesterday, and my speedy professor posted the answer key and score distributed that night. But I was busy and didn’t get to checking my answers with it (he lets us keep the questions and we turn in the scantron) and I just did an hour ago. It turns out that I got the second highest grade in class, a 95%. The second highest...

Hi.
I GOT A 96% ON MY CHEMISTRY EXAM!! My goodness, such a happy day. I hate Chemistry and I barely studied more than usual (I don’t usually study at all) and I got an A! I am so happy right now, I can’t believe I did that well on it. I might actually do homework tonight, yes I am in that good of mood. Or play pokemon. Which ever.

It's strange...
Lately, the internet cannot hold my attention and I don’t know why. I just get bored so quickly when it used to amuse me for hours. I actually finished a book yesterday for the first time in terms pretty much. And now I’ve started to read (finally) 2001: A Space Odyssey. I try to stay on the internet (sadly) but it’s hard. Tumblr only holds my attention so long, as does reddit...

Today is Sunday
And I actually got homework done! I finished my chemistry stuff that wasn’t due until Tuesday, got caught up on my minerals in world affairs project and am reading for my Morality debate that isn’t happening for a couple weeks.  I feel empowered! Spending hours in the library is actually paying off (I don’t get anything done if I go home after classes). It might take me a bit...

Tango!
Guess who joined the tango club? Best. Decision. Ever! I haven’t enjoyed myself so much in a long time. The instructor is really nice, which is a plus and the people I dance with are patient with me even though they have a lot of experience (at least compared to me). I can’t wait to attend tonight, it is well worth it.

Studying Abroad
I was going to apply because I really wanted to go to Scotland…until I found out that the program (for a term) would cost over 16,000. Not including meals, books, airfare and things like that. That would be more than I pay for an entire year here!  No matter how badly I want to go, nothing I can think of can justify the cost. Not only that but I wouldn’t be able to take sequence...

My first day as a lab assistant is tomorrow! I’m super excited. The lady I’m going to be working with warned me that it was probably going to be wet and dirty (we are working with soils) so I’ll be prepared. This is just so cool!  My parents are coming up to visit me this weekend, it’ll be nice to see them again. My mom still doesn’t believe me when I say I’m...

School, sleep, and social life. Choose two.
This last Saturday I had my first volunteer day at the national park. Let me just say that it is beautiful up there. Seriously, I couldn’t believe it. I’m glad it’s such a long walk from the nearest bus stop to the center (1.4 miles, and I say I’m glad now because it wasn’t raining). Anyways, it’s such a nice place to visit and I want to drag my friends up there...

It's official!
I’m going to be a lab assistant! I talked to the professor today and he already sent me and the people I’ll be working with an email.  I’ll be working with them on analyzing soils and I am way excited. It’ll also be a good way to allow my followers to get to know me… from an anonymous distance, of course. At what point did you know you were an atheist?… I will try to do this! I will. Later.
